Higher league clubs have a free weekend, due to the latest international break, but it’s business as usual for Burton.

Burton, going through a bit of a rough patch at the moment, look to get back to winning ways at Northampton Town’s Sixfields on Saturday afternoon.

Northampton will be without their top goalscorer Marc Richards (hamstring) after his midweek injury but Gregor Robertson (suspension) could return. New loan signing Enda Stevens also comes into contention.

Damien McCrory made his return from a six-month injury lay-off in the three-nil defeat to Doncaster Rovers at the Pirelli Stadium in midweek but he isn’t likely to be risked at the weekend.

Ian Sharps (hamstring) and Stuart Beavon (groin) are injury doubts

Ahead of the game Gary Rowett told BBC Radio Derby: ‘We are in a terrific position. There will be a lot of teams up and down the country that wished that after 11 games they had 22 points and were one point off the top of the league.

‘And we’re not in great form – which is testament to the great start we had. We have had a little blip but as a manager you try to work out why.

‘We have worked harder this week and we will make sure we are as organised as we can be and put in a much better performance but I have been encouraged by what I have seen in training. Northampton have some very good, dangerous players. I would expect them to be up there.’
