Rowett Given Blues Permission

The expected approach from Birmingham City for Gary Rowett has come with permission granted for him to speak to them.

From the minute that Lee Clark was sacked Rowett was linked to the vacancy, as he is most jobs these days, but given his previous with the club that he spent two-years with as a player it was even more likely this could be the job that led to his Pirelli Stadium exit?

After the four-three win over Carlisle United on Tuesday night the Brewers boss cited the continued improvement at the club, which should be a compliment, as the thing that would ‘bring speculation’ but his reported desire to speak to his former club have led to permission being granted.

If Rowett is still in charge at the weekend is anybodies guess but he’s a strong favourite and is poised to be interviewed along with the likes if Mike Phelan and Owen Coyle, who are both without clubs at the moment.

Another linked with the job is Swindon Town boss Mark Cooper but Milton Keynes Dons boss Karl Robinson has apparently been refused permission to speak to the Blues?
