Rotherham striker Adam Le Fondre’s 16th goal of the season was the only bright spot of a disappointing first half.

The Millers thought they had a penalty when Paul Boertien appeared to block Adam Rundle’s shot with his arm, but the referee waved away their protests.

But Boertien was not so lucky the second time when he clearly handled a high cross and Le Fondre fired Rotherham in front from the spot.

The second half had more life as Le Fondre almost added a second with a brilliant 25-yard lob over Shane Redmond that hit the bar.

Le Fondre was able to get his second of the game in the 63rd minute when he got in behind the defence to turn in a Mark Lynch cross.

The Brewers hit back two minutes later when Aaron Webster slotted home the rebound after Rotherham keeper Andy Warrington had kept out Greg Pearson’s initial effort.

A nick Fenton straight red for a challenge on Webster saw the home side go to ten men for the final 15 minutes and Burton capitalised on the advantage.

With six minutes to go, Pearson and Webster linked up again, only it was Pearson that scored.

After the match the delighted Peschisolido said on the Burton Albion website, ‘I`m a lot happier. I thought the lads, from the word go, showed the right spirit and the right attitude. We asked for a response after midweek and we certainly got that. I was absolutely delighted with the performance and perhaps we could have even snuck three points in the end.’

The Brewers next game is at home on December 12th against Aldershot Town.
