Port Vale had early chances and looked to continue their goal scoring run against the Brewers, but Artur Krysiak held firm in goal and kept an impressive clean sheet.

An early effort from Louis Dodds forced a save from the Burton keeper. Rob Taylor also had a chance to put Port Vale on the board, but it was Maghoma’s goal in the 39th minute that separated the two teams at the half.

The second half was just as close as Tom Parkes had an early effort blocked following a corner kick. While Maghoma had a chance to double his tally on the day as Steve Kabba crossed the ball in from the right, but Maghoma failed to capitalise on the chance.

Albion man of the match: John McGrath – His battling display in midfield swung the game the Brewers way.
