Burton remain keen to bring Zeli Ismail back to the club on loan but it seems that they have competition for him.

Wolverhampton Wanderers wanted to look at the winger in pre-season before deciding the next steps but Gary Rowett has never hidden his desire to re-sign Ismail on loan again this season if he could.

Rowett did tell the Burton Mail this week that if Wolves wanted him playing at a higher level than league 2 he didn’t think the 20-year-old would be short of offers, if the Brewers got him back again it would be ‘great’ but he knows the decision rests with Wolves.

Rumour has it that Scottish outfit Aberdeen are interested in taking him on loan and hope to ‘complete a deal’ when they return from a Europa League game in Latvia, so it looks like Burton will miss out?
