Saturday could be the final game of Burton’s season, however they’ll be having other ideas and hoping differently.

Burton go to Roots Hall at 12-noon on Saturday afternoon looking to book a place in the league two play-off final.

The Brewers will have to defend a first leg win without Ian Sharps after the captain was sent off for two yellow cards in the first-leg win. Also missing for the Brewers are Damien McCrory and Jimmy Phillips (both knee), they had their seasons ended before the play-offs began.

Adam McGurk (groin) scored the first-leg winner but, Zeli Ismail and Shane Cansdell-Sherriff (Achilles) are struggling to be fit.

Burton are in the driving seat having won the first-leg but Rowett knows the tie is far from over but does feel the lead is a ‘big thing’ and his side go into this on a positive note.

Ahead of the game Rowett told BBC Radio Derby: ‘We have to shuffle the pack and show some real character. They are a good side and caused us problems in the games against us this season but we have not conceded too many chances in all those games.

‘We have had a hard to beat mentality all season. We are very confident going into the game. We will give them respect but we want to go to Wembley.

‘We have got ourselves in a position where Southend are going to have to play very, very well to win the tie and stop us progressing but we know they are capable of that.

‘But it won’t change our outlook. We are very positive and confident. We have an advantage and I think that is a big thing.’

Will Burton get the job done?
