Burton’s League 1 season continued with a win against Peterborough at London Road on Tuesday.

Burton got the reaction they wanted to a defeat in the game to Shrewsbury before with an important one-nil win at promotion rivals Peterborough. Just three-minutes in Tom Naylor finished off Mark Duffy’s cross from close range to open the scoring with that goal enough to give Burton the win and send the Brewers back to the top of the table.

These were the other results.

Tuesday 26th January 2016
Blackpool 0-0 Sheff Utd
Bradford 0-1 Barnsley
Bury 0-0 Crewe
Doncaster 1-2 Port Vale
Fleetwood P-P Walsall
Peterborough 0-1 Burton
Shrewsbury 0-1 Oldham

It wasn’t a full schedule, with these rearranged games (Fleetwood v Walsall was called-off again), and not too many goals were scored either but looking at these results the stand out ones have to be the wins for Barnsley (1-0), and Oldham (1-0) over Bradford and Oldham respectively.

The fine run of form Barnsley have found of late saw them claim the bragging right, more importantly, the points from a one-nil win at Yorkshire rivals Bradford to move further away from the relegation zone and towards a seemingly unlikely (and still doubtful) play-off place! This is what the Bantams want but that took a blow.

Oldham, like Shrewsbury, are looking to merely stay in League 1 with those chances given a boost as far as the Latics are concerned with a one-nil win at Greenhous Meadow. The Shrews remain outside the bottom four, with Oldham still in it, but the chance to open some daylight was missed.
