Nigel Clough has returned to a former club to bring in another familiar face to him with the signing of Mason Bennett announced ahead of the weekend.

Bennett, who worked with Clough at Derby when he handed him his debut, has made 28 first-team appearances for the Rams so far but will now spend the remainder of the season with the Brewers.

When given his debut against Middlesbrough as a 15-year-old that made him the youngest ever player to represent Derby with him also their youngest goalscorer too with him scoring against Tranmere in January 2013.

A former England U16, U17 and U19 international, still only 19, the forward has told the Official Website he’s delighted to work with some familiar faces again and looks forward to this loan spell.

‘It’s a great opportunity for me to be here. The team are at the top of the league and hopefully we can keep pushing forward. I know the staff well here. They gave me my debut at 15 so hopefully I’ll have more success here with them. It must have been difficult for them to chuck a 15-year-old in from the start so I`m grateful for another opportunity at this club.’
