Brewers drop points but remain in second as Wigan move 4 points clear at the top.

Four changes were made to the side that drew at home last week against Bury. Reilly, Butcher, Naylor and Walker started with Bennett and Beavon on the bench. Both McCrory, Choudhury missing the out on the trip to Glanford Park.

Going into the half, both teams were causing chances as both keepers were called into action. Luke Williams shot from just outside the box at the 12 minute mark that was heading towards the right corner. Just before half time, a Callum Butcher left footed shot forced the Scunthorpe keeper to make the save.

At the 60 minute mark Neal Bishop scored from close range to break the deadlock after Mirkin headed the ball towards goal from a corner.

With the result, Burton remain in second place and six points clear of third place Bradford, but are still looking for a win as they remain winless in their last four.

The Brewers next game is at home against Barnsley on April 16th.
