The weekend was arguably Burton’s toughest test of the league 2 season so far, but we passed that test and remain top of the table after another win.

York City came to the Pirelli Stadium off the back of a 23-game unbeaten run but they went away from Burton with us securing a sixth win from seven league 2 games to keep up our own unbeaten record with a 2-0 win.

We almost went ahead when a Michael Ingham punch fell to John Mousinho, but he saw his effort headed off the line by York’s Keith Lowe to keep it at nil-nil.

After a goalless first half though Lucas Akins (55) continued his impressive early season form when he volleyed home after Adam McGurk’s initial shot was again blocked by Lowe to make it one-nil.

McGurk was denied again by the bar before Mousinho (79) secured the points from 25-yard to make it two-nil 10-minutes from time to give us a three-point cushion at the top of the table.
