Yet another Burton cup upset was caused on Wednesday night when a premier league side were shown the door.

Queen Park Rangers, given their premier league status, went into the league cup meeting with Burton at the Pirelli Stadium as the obvious favourites but they were send crashing out 1-0.

Nine changes might have been made by Harry Redknapp’s side but it still contained plenty of top quality international footballers but we started the better side with Adam McGurk forcing Brian Murphy into a save with Alex MacDonald twice going close.

The best, and only real, QPR chance came in the first half when Junior Hoilett was denied by the bar.

As the game inched towards extra time a foul by Richard Dunne presented us with a freekick chance, which McGurk (77) took to clip a curling effort over the wall and beyond Murphy to secure us a one-nil win and a place in round three.
